The DCA BestPigletPrice is marking time for the sixth week in a row. There are signs, however, that export demand is decreasing somewhat.
The tight supply makes the piglet market predictable. In previous years, prices often fell at this time of year, but that is not the case now. However, demand is decreasing.
This is partly due to the series of broken weeks. Because fewer pigs are slaughtered, the placement space for piglets automatically decreases. Furthermore, Spanish export demand is declining, according to trade reports. This can also be explained logically. After all, piglets that are currently being imposed will only come onto the market as fattening pigs after the tourist season.
Although the air clouds slightly, there is no reason to lower the DCA BestPigletPrice. The quotation therefore remains at €77,50 per piglet. The German VEZG quotation is also stable, at €84,50 per piglet.
