The pressure on the piglet market is noticeably increasing, now that the pig market feels less stable during the summer period than initially estimated.
The willingness to impose piglets is not great, insiders indicate. Sales within the fixed connections are reasonable, but there is not much interest on the open market. In addition to weak domestic demand, export demand also leaves much to be desired. The latter is a common phenomenon at this time of year, although this is not yet reflected in the export figures, which exceeded 29 until week 35.000.
The correction that in other years occurs immediately after the spring revival is now occurring in the middle of the summer. In Spain, the piglet price fell by €3 last week.

Based on the statements, the DCA BestPigletPrice must also be reduced at that rate and therefore amounts to €74,50. This is probably not the last cut, because there are traders who argue for a much larger correction. Moreover, the German piglet price can still hold at a record level of €93, thanks to the equally stable German pig quotation.
Pig prices in the Netherlands are still under pressure. Just like last week, Vion once again lowers the quotation by 4 cents to €2,50 per kilo.
