Livestock feed group De Heus has achieved significant turnover growth in 2022, according to the group result that was recently filed with the Chamber of Commerce. The win did take a step back.
Turnover rose from €4,42 billion in 2021 to a record €6,96 billion. The significant increase is partly due to the increased grain prices that rose rapidly during the beginning of the war in Ukraine. De Heus has also made various acquisitions at home and abroad in recent years. For example, the Vietnamese Masan was acquired in 2021, good for 4 million tons of additional livestock feed per year. It is not possible to determine from the annual figures how many tonnes of livestock feed De Heus has sold.
Net profit took a small step back last year and fell by around €8 million to €138 million. De Heus therefore reports a fairly stable result, where the Dutch competition sometimes saw profits drop sharply. Due to the acquisitions, De Heus is significantly ahead of the competition in terms of turnover. The turnover of the family business is now twice as large as number two ForFarmers.
