Schuttert trading house acquires Dijk pig trade

Pig trade Dijk from Brucht, Overijssel, will transfer to Handelshuis Schuttert from Ommen in 2024. Both companies have been working together for some time and will continue under the same banner in the new year.

The collaboration was entered into several years ago to realize synergy benefits, such as creating scale, joint sales, planning and transport.

By my own admission, this is a great experience. And since there is no next generation ready at Dijk, the time is ripe, according to owner Hendrie Dijk, to transfer the company. The activities of piglet broker Select Porc are also part of the deal.

Handelshuis Schuttert expects to strengthen its market position with the acquisition by achieving additional scale.
