The Dutch piglet price starts the new year unchanged, after DCA's quotation leveled off in the last week of 2023.
The undertone on the piglet market is still quite positive, with supply certainly not overflowing. It is true that sales are somewhat out of balance due to the broken weeks with the holidays. In addition, the pig market makes one questionable impression at the start of the new year. The chance of reductions is substantial.
This means that many traders choose to start the year cautiously by keeping the DCA BestPigletPrice unchanged in week 1 at €69,50 per piglet. The German VEZG quotation has also remained the same at €73 per piglet.
