Pig prices in the Netherlands are falling, the German market is not

Price developments on the Dutch pig market this week are not compatible with those in Germany, where quotations remain the same.

Following Vion earlier this week Other major pig slaughterers in our country are also lowering their quotations. However, the fact that the German VEZG quotation has held up this week for the fourteenth consecutive time at €2,10 per kilo is bigger news. 

In the Netherlands, Van Rooi Meat supports Vion's reduction. Compaxo cuts an extra cent with a decrease from €0,07 to €1,86 per kilo. With the reductions, prices fall to the lowest level since early 2023.
