The mood on the piglet market this week is less convincing than in recent weeks. This has to do with the flattening pig prices. In addition, the German VEZG piglet price unexpectedly did not rise any further this week, despite the major shortages on the market in our eastern neighbors.
This brings a fairly abrupt end to the spring revival on the German market. After all, last week the quotation rose by €2. Sounds can be heard that the question has been answered well in recent weeks. Last week, the export figure to Germany no longer exceeded 50.000. Only Spain is really pushing the piglets at the moment. The good demand will probably continue for a few more weeks.
This means that the Dutch market, which is strongly export-oriented, can still achieve an increase this week. However, the stretch has now been lifted. Based on the statements, the DCA BestPigletPrice increases this by €0,50 to €79 per piglet. This equals the record set last summer.
