The demand for piglets has not improved as pig prices in the Netherlands have fallen further in recent days.

The piglet market is out of balance. This was already the case, is still the case and will probably continue for some time. Fattening pig farmers were already holding back and started doing so even more after last week. There are therefore traders who opt for a constant piglet price in order to gain peace in the market.

German listing drops
There are sales to Spain, but the prices are very poor. And German customers (the mixed companies) currently have other priorities now that the grain harvest is underway. In short: the piglet trade is a difficult story. This is also evident from the fact that the German VEZG quotation is finally moving downwards and this week drops by €1,50 to €72 per piglet

In the Netherlands the downward trend is slowly decreasing slightly. Based on the statements, the DCA BestPigletPrice decreases by €1,50 to €51,50 per piglet.
