Pali Group stops deboning pigs

21 August 2024 - Wouter Baan

Paridaans en Liebregts, Pali Group for short, will exit the pork business as of September now that the deboning location in Oss has been sold. The trade in live pigs and piglets continues at the same pace.

pali sold previously already sold the slaughter activities in Geldrop to Compaxo. In the new construction, the slaughter activities were transferred to Zevenaar and deboning continued to take place partly at Pali Meat in Oss.

Pali Group's motivation to now also stop deboning pigs has business economic reasons. In their own words, growth is necessary to continue to improve and control costs, in order to be able to offer the right market price. A solution has been found for the staff so that forced layoffs are not necessary.

When asked, a spokesperson for Pali Group indicates that the location in Oss has been sold to Hemsvlees BV, which is already active in this Brabant location. Furthermore, Pali Group emphasizes that it is not leaving the live pig trade and intends to strengthen its market position.
