Topigs Norsvin had been looking for a new CEO for a while and then Dick Hordijk suddenly became available. It didn't take long for both parties to come to an agreement.
Less than three weeks ago, it was announced that Hordijk would not continue as CEO at Agrifirm from 2025 onwards. If there was no prior knowledge, the only conclusion is that the breeding organisation acted very quickly by appointing Hordijk as the new CEO. He will take office in March 2025. This means that the vacancy at TopigsNorsvin has finally been filled. Last summer, the employment of former CEO Villaume Kal already ended.
Hordijk and TopigsNorsvin are not an illogical combination. He is an experienced CEO after eight years of service at Agrifirm. Before that, he worked at Cargill. The genetics world may be new to him, but the agricultural sector is not. In addition, TopigsNorsvin, like Agrifirm, is owned by farmers as a cooperative.
Hordijk is happy with his new challenge: "I know Topigs Norsvin well and I look forward to working with the company's employees all over the world." Cooperative chairman Mark Tijssen believes he can contribute to TopigsNorsvin's sustainability agenda in the coming years.
