Just like on the pig market, the market picture for piglets is also not very attractive. Prices therefore continue to move sideways.
There are enough piglets in relation to the demand, which is also described as dull by insiders. A few traders do report that the export to Spain is increasing somewhat in terms of numbers. For the time being, this does not result in higher prices.
That pretty much tells the story of the pig market. We are looking at an unchanged market picture and this will probably continue in the coming weeks. In other years, the seasonal recovery sometimes started at this time of year, but it does not look like that in the short term.
The DCA BestPigletPrice remains at €49 per piglet. In Germany, piglet prices are also stable, at €59 per piglet.
