Vion sells North German livestock trading activities

10 February 2025 - Matthijs Bremer

Vion has sold its livestock trading activities in Neumünster, northern Germany, to major livestock trader ZNVG. The company expects the transfer to be completed in March.

Vion previously did business with the German company. In 2022, Vion sold all its piglet trade to this major player. The location itself will remain in Vion's hands for the time being, although the company has decided to withdraw completely from Germany in the long term.

According to Vion, the sale must be understood in the context of this withdrawal. The company no longer sees any salvation in the structurally shrinking German market and has decided to focus entirely on the Netherlands and Belgium.
