In addition to membership of the FromFarmers cooperative, a condition for a subsequent payment is also having feed equivalents in your name. The total number of used feed equivalents in 2024 amounted to almost 900.000 units. In this way, members of the cooperative can share in the results of ForFarmers. Last week, the listed company announced that it had sold more feed in 2024. This was an incentive for considerable improved profit figures.

The cooperative FromFarmers receives dividend for the 20,7% stake they hold directly in ForFarmers. This is 18,5 million shares. The proposed dividend of €0,20 per share results in a total dividend receipt of €3,7 million. This amount, reduced by the costs for the cooperative, is paid out via used feed equivalents.

Significant voting rights
In addition to the 20,7% direct interest in ForFarmers, the FromFarmers cooperative also represents the participations and certificates of members for which no voting rights are requested in shareholders' meetings. For example, 26,5% of the total number of outstanding shares are still held as participations by the members and another 6,5% in the form of certificates. Representation of control also applies, insofar as no voting rights are exercised, to employee certificates. In total, the cooperative represents almost 56% of the shares in ForFarmers. That is only a fraction lower than the percentage in 2017, the first full year after the IPO.

Over the years, members did sell shares. The total number of outstanding shares also decreased because ForFarmers bought back its own shares in recent years. As a result, the percentage represented by the FromFarmers cooperative remained approximately the same.

New members
Chairman Walter Gerritsen states when asked that he is positive about the presented results, although there are also challenges. "The shrinking livestock population in the Netherlands is of course an uncertain factor, but that does not only apply to ForFarmers. However, we have also been able to show growth in a shrinking market in the past year, which also offers perspective."

Gerritsen is also pleased that the position of the FromFarmers cooperative as a shareholder is stable: "We still represent a large majority of the shares. The fact that relatively few shares are sold by members must also be seen in the light of the return offered. Based on the current price, that is simply good. Next year, we will once again focus on recruiting new members who want to use feed equivalents. That offers buyers an additional back payment."

Last year the cooperative welcomed 55 new members, although some members also left due to company strikes.
