AgruniekRijnvallei sees profit increase after volume

10 April 2025 - Wouter Baan

AgruniekRijnvallei can look back on 2024 with satisfaction. In a shrinking agricultural market, the cooperative not only managed to retain more customers, but also to sell slightly more feed and vegetable products. The result after tax was €2,7 million, with a turnover of €356 million.

This means that profits are considerably higher than last year, when they were €1,1 million. Feed turnover rose by 1% to 727.000 tonnes in 2024. This means that the company has resumed its upward trend after the volume sold in 2023 had fallen slightly.

Despite the higher revenues, the additional payment remains the same as last year. AgruniekRijnvallei will pay out a total of €2024 million in 7,2 through price reductions and discounts. Livestock farmers will receive an additional payment of €1 per ton of feed (provided they were still customers in January 2025). Arable farmers will receive a 1% discount on purchased crop protection products. "We deliberately keep margins low so that our members can benefit directly," says director Arjen van Nuland.

Despite the termination arrangements, the company sees opportunities for further growth. To achieve this, it continues to focus on knowledge, scale and cooperative strength.
