For a few weeks now, there has been increasing pressure in the piglet trade, mainly as a result of the weakening Spanish demand. Domestic trade is less difficult, but certainly not smooth. There is hardly any demand for free piglets.
A number of traders believe that the weaker market situation should be processed in the quotation. There are also traders who argue for unchanged. Based on the average of the statements, the DCA BestPigletPrice remains stable at €68,50 per piglet. The German VEZG piglet price remains unchanged after the increase of the past weeks at €72,50 per piglet.
Based on the market picture and seasonal pattern, a reduction is a matter of time.
