De Heus Voeders is expanding further in Belgium and Northern France with the acquisition of the family business Voeders Huys. The acquisition will expand production by 250.000 tons of compound feed.
The Belgian Voeders Huys has two production locations: in Bruges and in Saint-Michel (Northern France). The takeover ensures more local production. According to De Heus, this not only brings logistical advantages, but also contributes to a smaller ecological footprint.
According to De Heus, the acquisition fits in with the ambition to grow internationally while maintaining local strength. The Huys family will remain involved with the company in the next development phase. "We are pleased to welcome Voeders Huys to our organization," says Paul Damen, general manager of De Heus Voeders.
With this acquisition, De Heus adds approximately 250.000 tonnes to its production capacity for cattle, pigs and poultry feed. In France, cattle feed is mainly produced. The acquisition price has not been disclosed.
