AgruniekRijnvallei reports strong growth figures

25 July 2025 - Redactie Boerenbusiness

Cooperative AgruniekRijnvallei (AR) achieved significant volume growth in the first half of the year. Animal feed sales rose by an impressive 5,5%. Growth was seen across all sectors in which it operates, the company announced today.

While the market shrank by 3,5% in the first quarter, according to AR, the Gelderland cooperative managed to sell more feed. Although feed sales increased across all sectors, volumes grew most strongly in the laying hen and pig farming sectors. Inquiries with director Arjen van Nuland revealed that compound feed volume increased by over 5% and sales of single feeds by over 8%. This represents a total growth in volume of sales of 5,5%.

Other pillars also show positive figures
In addition to the growing compound feed volumes, the company's other branches also showed good results. For example, sales from the online stores ARwebshop.nl and paardenvoer.nl increased, and the affiliated Welkoop stores also achieved higher sales than in 2024. However, AR plant sold fewer crop protection products due to lower mold pressure than in the first half of 2024.

The company also reports that its organic feed factories have achieved record volumes and that a production line for farmyard animal feed (for private sale) has also been launched. The company did not disclose any further financial details at this time.

Compound feed production shrank slightly in 2024
In 2024, AR sold approximately 632.000 tons of compound feed and 95.000 tons of single raw materials. In 2023, the company sold approximately 638.000 tons of compound feed and 81.000 tons of single raw materials. Consequently, the volume of compound feed produced declined slightly last year. Van Nuland indicates that this was due to less contract production for third parties. "Our own compound feed volumes have been showing clear growth for several years now," he says.
