Vion has decided to close its beef deboning facility in Hilden, Germany, near Düsseldorf. The company has informed its employees and the works council of this decision. Subject to ongoing consultations, operations are expected to end no later than February 28, possibly sooner.
The planned closure will impact approximately 160 employees. Vion is investigating the extent to which affected employees can be redeployed within other Vion divisions. At the same time, Vion emphasizes that continuity for customers and suppliers will be guaranteed.
The majority of customers will be supplied from other Vion locations, while suppliers can continue their deliveries to other Vion locations where necessary. According to Vion, this decision aligns with its strategy to leave Germany and focus entirely on the Benelux region.
