Rabobank: Hectare revenues under pressure

15 March 2017 - Redactie Boerenbusiness

The yield per hectare is stagnating, says Arjan Ausma, sector manager arable farming at Rabobank Nederland.

The tightening of fertilization standards by the government contributes to the fact that the yields per hectare of highly productive arable crops hardly increase. At the same time, the growth of land-based businesses is under pressure because agricultural land is expensive. 'Farmers will have to look for alternative forms of land use. We adjust the financing accordingly', says Ausma.
