'The reorganization of the pig farm is definitely and truly necessary. Even in times when things are going well', says Uri Rosenthal chairman of the Coalition Vital Pig Farming about the roll-out of the Vitalization Plan for pig farming.
'We have to give those who stay in pig farming a helping hand. We want to give them perspective, so that they dare to invest again.' He estimates that 2.000 pig farmers will remain in the Netherlands. That is about half less than now. He also discusses the plans for fertilizer valorisation and the feed track.
