On Tuesday 23 May, the Senate voted in favor of the 2018 phosphate rights bill. The new quota for dairy farming is therefore a fact from 1 January. CDA senator Joop Atsma explains the vote and looks ahead to the introduction of the law.

Atsma was responsible for the agricultural portfolio of the CDA in the House of Representatives for many years. He was chairman of the committee and subsequently became State Secretary of the Ministry of Infrastructure & the Environment. He has been a senator in the Senate since June 2015.

If only the new decision can be read and calculated in a normal way for a simple entrepreneur , and the main thing is that we can also earn money with it , because all those rules are reprimands from water boards etc. etc. etc. tired of it. It is gradually becoming a profession that every meloot gets involved in.

This policy causes a lot of stress among farmers and soon bankruptcies, many farms are already under water because they are not allowed to use the new stable space!
