600 extra farms will keep cows in 2017

8 July 2017 - Redactie Boerenbusiness

The preliminary CBS figures from the agricultural census 2017 show that the number of cows has fallen by 3% and the number of calves by 9%. These cattle have been slaughtered, brought abroad or stabled with colleagues. The figures show that more farms are keeping cows this year compared to last year. Cor Pierik of CBS explains how that works. He will also discuss phosphate production in 2016.
