Grain cultivation equal to acreage of potatoes

Intensive cultivation is increasing in the Netherlands. This is at the expense of grain cultivation. The area of ​​arable land now consists of one third potatoes and one third grain. Outdoor vegetable crops remain in vogue. This is evident from the provisional outcome of the 2017 agricultural census. Cor Pierik, agricultural spokesman for Statistics Netherlands, explains the figures.
