BB TV: Marcel Crok

'Policy against greenhouse gases goes too far'

1 September 2017 - Redactie Boerenbusiness - 4 comments

Science journalist Marcel Crok believes that the consequences of climate change are exaggerated. He calls himself a climate optimist. 'Climate change can actually be beneficial, also for farmers.'

For this reason, Crok believes it is unjustified that more and more measures are being taken to combat greenhouse gas emissions in agriculture. This interview is part of the summer series Climate change.

In aviation and in traffic they also do very little about it, especially at Schiphol the number of flight movements is increasing strongly, because it is a prestige in Europe, who has the busiest and largest airport. The emissions from road traffic are also increasing, more and more traffic jams

Meanwhile the deserts are getting bigger, and yes the tundra is getting greener as it melts. Peter Kuipers Munneke has shown that very well. And those floods that you now see all over the world are not really good either.

According to Marcel, nuclear power stations do not emit CO2, which is why they are favorable. But I think the story tells that CO2 is not a problem at all. The more CO2 the better for the plant. Conclusion the story is too muddled. In my opinion, too much CO2 is a problem.
