'Fighting for our own agriculture minister'

Marc Calon, chairman of LTO Nederland, assumes that a Minister of Agriculture will be appointed to the Rutte III cabinet. He relies on commitments from political parties involved in the formation. Calon is thus responding to various media reports that a Minister of Agriculture would no longer be an issue. "We will only know for sure when the new cabinet is on the platform. But we will fight for it."

Calon responds extensively to the content of the coalition agreement 'Confidence in the future', of which 2,5 pages are about agriculture. "This is unprecedented. Across the board there is more attention for farmers and what they mean for the Netherlands."
