BB TV: Hero Dijkema

'No risk of fine with vehicle requirement'

24 January 2018 - Redactie Boerenbusiness - 9 comments

The new vehicle regulations for towed vehicles shook up the agricultural mechanization sector in early January. Several industry associations, manufacturers and dealers were caught off guard. However, users do not immediately run the risk of a fine, thinks Hero Dijkema of Cumela Netherlands.

As of January 1, 2018, the Netherlands has with the new vehicle regulations to make. Major things are changing, especially for the braking system. Since the Netherlands does not have its legislation on agricultural traffic in order, there is a lot of uncertainty.

Thinking is of no use to us, just clear on paper, it just depends on which officer you meet.

Due to the new legislation, the responsibility to sell the correct machine from year 2018 rests with the manufacturer.
No problem, because the new legislation ensures that a mature road safety situation is finally created and a level playing field within Europe.
The fact that Cumela is spouting the nonsense that no fines will be handed out is unworthy of an industry organization.
Even if you do not receive a ticket, you must comply with the law and, for example, you will have to pull out more in the event of an accident.
Was signed a contractor without Cumela membership

Cumela wants to bother farmers and at the same time be friends.

We can also simply say that a vehicle without proper brakes is no longer of this time, the car is also inspected, it just has to be in order.

a vehicle that has been inspected is therefore exempt from liability for defects for the full term, otherwise the inspection is actually pointless

Inspection is a snapshot, maintenance and use determine the condition of the machine

It has clearly been in the agro magazines, the whole rigging would not exceed 30 euros.
Let's especially address those hotetoes about that.
