FrieslandCampina milk price disappoints

30 April 2018 - Redactie Boerenbusiness - 7 comments

FrieslandCampina will pay €34 for the milk in May, a minus of €0,50 per 100 kilos. This is happening against a background of slowly increasing prices for skimmed milk powder and more rapidly increasing prices for butter. In recent years, the month of May has guaranteed a stable milk price; only in 2015 that was not possible.

Worthless the way they treat members.
They make big plans just to make the company stronger and the farmers are really behind.

Indeed, what is the alternative??
Vreugdenhil is located at place no. 10 in the top 100 family businesses published by Elsevier 2 weeks ago. And the Anker family (Aware) is also quite high on that list (I don't know the number off by heart).
So it's like Jan says above.
And the supplementary payment through the performance price is at least 0,0 every year at Vreugdenhil (so never anything), because they don't know that there. A few years ago we switched from Vreugdenhil to, then still, Campina.
Never regretted it. Not even now!

Just checked: the Anker and Bouter families of the Royal Aware group are at No. 22 of the Elsevier top 100 with a turnover of 1162 million. Don't be under the illusion that 1 cent of the profit goes to the suppliers. And that also applies to Vreugdenhil. In fact, if they don't need your milk tomorrow, they have no obligation to you. Then you can decide for yourself what to do with it.
And I often read comments that members at RFC have nothing to say. Well, at the members' meetings, anyone who wants to can have their say. Doing something about it is another matter. With those private individuals you can just listen to the announcements from the management during a sporadic supplier meeting, that's it.

There's nothing worse than a board that doesn't feel it in the wallet when something isn't going well
