Is the wheat price dip short-lived?

13 August 2018 - Redactie Boerenbusiness - 9 comments

The WASDE report for the month of August hit the grain futures markets sharply. Wheat remains the best boy in the class, but still had to hand in. Is this price dip only short-lived, or not?

The USDA US Department of Agriculture was more positive about the international grain market, causing the stock markets to lose. In wheat, negative news continues to dominate, giving prices a solid bottom.

I am afraid that the price peak is now over, no international support for high grain prices

the price is determined by supply and demand and not by support?

The great powers broadly determine the price. USDA knows what has grown in Europe? Looks like we're still paying the toll of liberation.

Don't forget the extreme situation in Australia.

You should visit the landing beaches in Normandy, your statement is a slip off the tongue I hope.

Globally, there is a lot going on that can still have a significant impact on the grain market, but as long as the politics do not allow it, the grain will never become expensive€

JP it's too rude by me. But we are ruled by our American friends. And they didn't come for nothing. Putin has an export potential of 65 million tons. What would that mean if an extra €50 per tonne is obtained there too? The trade war is also being fought in agriculture! It's a good thing we don't know everything. But people still don't understand that you can't get a Russian to his knees. The wheat price is largely a political game.

65 million tons is a lot, that's true, but people also live there and they also have animals and everything is not always harvested and Putin knows that too, so I'm not so afraid of that

And on top of that I'd rather have a Russian on her knees, hahaha
