'We don't want it the way we grow beets now'

The young sugar beet crops are plagued by insect damage. It is a direct result of the ban on the seed coating with neonicotinoids. The sector knocks on the door of Minister Carola Schouten (Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality) and asks her to see the consequences with her own eyes. "We don't want to grow beets the way we are now," says Dirk de Lugt, Cosun's chairman.
