'2 extra cows costs a ton, how do I finance that?'

June 18, 2019 - Redactie Boerenbusiness - 7 comments

Marije Klever, the Dairy Farmer's portfolio holder at the Dutch Agricultural Youth Contact (NAJK), wrote a letter to minister Carola Schouten (Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality) last week. Why did she write it, what solutions does she have, and does she still have faith in the minister at all?

Learn a foreign language.

stop complaining
Everyone has the freedom to stop or grow, let it stay that way
Bert June 18, 2019
Stop financing phosphate rights and it will automatically become cheaper to grow

Quitting can also be a wise decision

First you have to make money and then grow, not the other way around.
Growing shouldn't be a goal
Not growing June 18, 2019
Quitting farmers also have the right to a decent old age, let them grow up.
Everyone has the right to decide how they want to stop or continue, let it stay that way and let the market do its job.

Who should you help or not? You don't have to help a company that is not future-proof either.
It is better to make the choice now to stop. These companies will remain weak or they will have to receive a very large bag of money.
And everyone wants that .
