'Commotion about nitrogen is completely unnecessary'

25 October 2019 - Redactie Boerenbusiness - 28 comments

According to Franca Damen, lawyer at Kneppelhout, the commotion that arose after the Nitrogen Approach Program (PAS) was shot down is completely unnecessary. She also believes that the government is acting carelessly, given that RIVM's measurement models are unreliable.

Here's a nice video where science and politics do not agree with each other, you can expect that politics listens to science, nothing less true, but again how dangerous people can be in politics as below in this video. Let it sink in and don't be alarmed at what this politician says.

Franca, the solution is not to halve the farmers!!!!

Rivm has already admitted that half of the farmers are gone, not helping. That it doesn't even help if all the farmers are gone, because then there is still a nitrogen problem!!!

So we have to look for it in politics and the covenant that the Green Left has concluded with Rutte and the coalition.
That half of the livestock has to go, then Jesse Klaver supports everything Rutte wants.....

We should sue the government for mismanagement.

By acting completely without vision in this small country, the government has allowed too large companies, up to 60000 pigs, 500000 chickens and 1500 cows, while that was not possible at all.

The government has made serious mistakes in designating nature reserves through greed. And we must therefore demand that those natural areas disappear. They are parks.

We should sue them for maladministration, because despite being farmers we are also citizens of the Netherlands.

Franca you are in the legal profession, can't we arrange something???

won't help, the judges belong to the same group, everything is allowed, nothing is required, I can't imagine that anywhere in the world is worse than here, total corruption

Everything that disappears here goes abroad. it blows so far here. but you lose your job.
saddened by VVD and CDA.

Farmers need to pull their heads out of the sand. For years the problems have been pushed away by the CDA, VVD and LTO, but now the bomb is bursting!
The monkey comes out of the sleeve and don't sit and cry with each other, the DOMEST farmer could see this coming.
Count your buttons and sell your toko while there are still dumbasses willing to pay for it.
Enjoy life without your poverty!

so you sound like you are very happy in life.
Fortunately, I still enjoy being a farmer.

Real entrepreneurs undertake and earn a living!!!
peta 26 October 2019
Entrepreneurs now also feel and see, as in Brabant, that the CDA is stabbing them in the back. And LTO, ZLTO and LLTB chairmen have little empathy towards members. At protest meetings where farmers shout this far and no further, they relentlessly continue with promises to accommodate the wrong politicians. This while their new harvest contains articles about how good grass and manure are for the environment. Do those chairmen and their employees no longer read their own magazine or have they lost faith in the truth? It won't be to stay in the plush or to remain the sweet lap dog of wrong politicians?!

People are fed up with all those shit pigs, heaps of trouble and yield little. Learn a real trade or apply for benefits! Fuck off with that criminal suffocating gang!

Well now Gerrit that's a relief. Can you also say something substantive or do you just want to say that you hate farmers.

I wonder what Gerrit has had on his plate in those 72 years :)
Let him chat. Farmer's mind has more content than yours Gerrit.

I work in industry and here we can no longer do anything in terms of nitrogen. I agree with Franca that the law still exists and that licensing is still possible with internal and external netting. The point is - I think - that most people think they should have the right to be able to expand at any time and that now of course conflicts with the nitrogen test. The 'nitrogen problem' (what you may or may not think of it) already existed in 2015. The PAS was created precisely to help farmers with space. Politicians have therefore EXACTLY tried to smooth out the situation with the PAS. It is of course a pity that it did not hold up legally (expected or not). But in my opinion the current problem is not caused by the PAS, so I think some nuance is in order. If it had not been for the PAS, the granting of permits would have come to a standstill sooner.

Surely everyone can sense that continuous expansion, anywhere, is not realistic. This applies to everything, to retailers, to industry, to farmers and to the economy. And if something is not financially profitable, it (unfortunately) cannot survive and it goes bankrupt. That also makes sense.

In short, it is easy to point the finger at the government. And if a rule works against you, it's easy to say it's idiotic. But I think the government (also from the EU) on the other hand ensures that a lot of money goes to the agricultural sector in the form of subsidies. So some nuance is in order there as well. If the agricultural sector wants to be freed from rules, then also remove the rules that artificially protect the agricultural sector. The company I work for must also always comply with new regulations and is not artificially protected, so here too, disappointing results apply and I am (obviously) on the street. Then I'll have to look for something else.

I'm probably going to get a lot of shit on me right now :)

Mark there will be no more chicken, pig or cow. Everything is limited with animal rights.
If a farmer wants to expand, he will have to buy the animal rights of a farmer who is stopping.
This is under-emphasized in the media. The impression now is that farmers want to grow unbridled. This is already impossible now.

what subsidies does the agricultural sector receive Marc?

@Mark
even if a farmer receives a subsidy, that has absolutely nothing to do with the nitrogen. the fact that those 2 things are named at the same time (Tjeerd de Groot) makes no sense at all. The fact remains that the left-wing environmental clubs have been listened to far too long and too much (talking about subsidies), resulting in Natura 2000 stamps everywhere without a threshold value. Thanks to Europe and the unwilling minister, we will soon end up in recession.

Dear Mark,
Do you know the background of those 'subsidies'? I will help you. The EU ensures that its inhabitants receive daily food at the lowest cost. The background to this is simple. Eat your plate = Peace. Whether or not you support this is up to you. Most farmers would also like food production without subsidies, but unfortunately almost all of our competitors worldwide produce with government support. This is because all those governments want to buy off food security. Think of the EU subsidies as an insurance premium, which ensures that many citizens can take 3 holidays a year, but work 5 days a week and have one month of holiday per year. Or else start producing your own food. There is plenty of land to rent in the EU with free EU money. Maybe you like being responsible for your toko 24/7.

Completely Fortissimo

Moreover, these "subsidies" have another purpose, namely to impose cross-compliance conditions on farmers with regard to the environment, food safety and animal welfare. this way they can carry out checks in passing and inappropriately under the guise, for what, for what.

and if you do anything wrong you immediately have double fines hanging on your pants, I once learned at school that you can only be fined once per violation, but they have also added a shovel to that
