Will drought become the new normal for April?

16 April 2020 - Redactie Boerenbusiness - 4 comments

How long will the current drought last? In any case, the season is already starting drier than in the record years 1976 and 2018. Whether this remains the case and the reels can continue to run in the coming weeks, says weatherman Robert de Vries in this Boerenbusiness weekly update.

There has been a lot of rain this year. The groundwater level was almost everywhere. At least if they've looked into it properly.
1975 was a dry cold year, followed by 1976 which was very warm and dry. In addition, the water boards pursued a low water level policy in summer and winter. The result was an enormous desiccation and they had to irrigate day and night! That was easy for the Water Board, but a disaster for the farmers. Suppose active farmers have won against the water board and good water level management is required! That's why you see a lot of weirs that have to hold water, and can drain quickly if it gets too wet! This is a must!!!

Where do you live if you dare to say that the water board is doing well, the De Dommel water board has a flooding policy here, I've been fighting to get something resolved since 2016, but they are hearing deaf, just don't want to go in one direction, and only make plans that cost millions and which in turn are a deterioration of the water management, they do not live up to their own drawing, how far can you sink as a civil servant?

And in case of damage they spend more on consultants than they would pay the entire claimed damage, that the fault in their light is clear to everyone, but in this country there is a lot of difference between being equal and being right

The most problem is usually the nature organizations!
If they get the chance they will drown you! If they have too much influence, then it becomes more difficult. But farmers and citizens only benefit from good management. You pay for that too! But the people who have to manage it often have the wrong ones. There is a statement for the water board and it is. Good management of the surface water, if not if there is wet damage due to poor management, the damage must be compensated! That's what it's all about!
