'Dairy farming must turn nitrogen knobs'

27 May 2020 - Redactie Boerenbusiness - 2 comments

Livestock farming remained well below the nitrogen ceiling in the first quarter. However, dairy farming is again above the sector ceiling and that is a point of concern, according to Cor Pierik, agricultural economist at Statistics Netherlands. "Dairy farming has to turn around to reduce nitrogen production in the course of this year."

Farmers have to deal with weather influences, with livestock, feed quantity and quality and so on.
But the worst part is that we no longer have a Ministry of Agriculture.
We have a ministry and a minister who guarantee destructive propaganda
All arrows are aimed (including yours, Pierik) on agriculture, notably the only sector that has a fully licensed business structure, no sector can compete with agriculture.
But the most disgusting thing is that this fully licensed sector is standing at the bar to solve the nitrogen problem that has been created.
That is a problem for Pierik, but aim your arrows at those who have not yet done anything and have to do anything from Mrs Schouten, outside agriculture, 60 to 70% of the nitrogen created is still produced.
Unreasonable, unreal, unrealistic and this for the most prominent agricultural country in the world.
My conclusion an insane minister of agriculture

SjefO, there is still a vacancy as chairman of LTO, I think you are in the right place, someone like you needs agriculture
