Let Lto grab this opportunity with both hands.

On the one hand Farmers Defense Force who may be too radical, but nobody is going to listen to these two gentlemen. You are already dozing into their story. This is so real LTO: sluggish, too quiet and the reason we're not a member. Politics flattens them. Where are those young, energetic LTO students or is this a writing on the wall?

A little shouting on a forum and being against everything won't solve anything. Both gentlemen have their feet in the clay, they know what they are talking about and they have a feeling for agricultural entrepreneurs. I give them full confidence!

Applications Vogelaar and Haanstra problem for LTO

Farmers' organization LTO has found itself in a particularly difficult position. The careful scenario, cherished for years, to nominate a new chairman for LTO Nederland outside the spotlight as the successor to Marc Calon, who stepped down in May, has come to nothing.

Two 'agricultural mastodons' have reported publicly to the LTO confidential committee as Calon's successor: Jan Cees Vogelaar and Jaap Haanstra. The Confidential Committee assesses the candidates and makes a recommendation to the Members' Council. LTO does not want to respond to the public application of both and that also fits in with the scenario: procedures for appointments have been taking place within LTO's offices for years. When Albert Jan Maat left, the outside world heard nothing until Marc Calon was hoisted onto the shield by the Members' Council. Who the possible other candidates were, remained unknown.

Vogelaar: 'They didn't want me then either'
One of the last chairmen to be appointed by election was the same Jan Cees Vogelaar in 1997. In that year he became chairman of LTO Dairy Farming for four years. A few years later, the appointment procedure was adjusted and everything has been done in private via a confidential committee. According to Vogelaar, that change has everything to do with his person. “They didn't want me then either,” he says emphatically.

Discuss where you can and otherwise go in if necessary

Get rid of 'shoreless polders'
Vogelaar and Haanstra argue in favor of reintroducing elections. That is why they also propagate their vision, which can be found on their election website. In this way they want to get rid of 'boundary polders'. “Consult where possible and otherwise throw in the towel if necessary”, says their ten-point plan. Support is essential for them. Anyone can let anyone know if they support their candidacy on the site. After a day the counter is at more than 70%. Both want support of at least 60%.

Benefits for LTO
The current procedure has many advantages for LTO. In this way, unsuitable, but also unwanted, candidates can be removed silently. That silent removal will no longer be possible with Vogelaar and Haanstra. The whole of the agricultural sector in the Netherlands knows about their application. So if Jan Cees Vogelaar, who calls himself an assertive chairman, or the connector Jaap Haanstra, which is highly respected in LTO circles, loses out in the race, LTO will have something to explain to the members.

Profiling does not fit in with the current working method
The profiling, which Haanstra and Vogelaar will certainly do in the near future, does not fit in at all with the current LTO method, in which candidates are spoken to in 'backrooms'. The question is justified whether opposing candidates will still apply or even whether those who have already applied will withdraw their applications under the now completely different dynamics in the nomination procedure. A new chairman will always be compared with the race directors Vogelaar and Haanstra.

Haanstra and Vogelaar LTO do offer a – small – escape route. They both hold on to the duo presidency. Perhaps the LTO regulations do not allow such an interpretation of the presidency. But whether that is sufficient as an argument for the LTO members to keep both candidates out, remains the big question for the time being.

All well and good.

farmers are an end point, not a beginning.

no beginning for words for money
no commitment to submission
no beginning before the end.

cunning and lies reign, it is high, high time.
population gets cheated, farmers first
Rutte doesn't even understand himself let alone the BOERN!!!!!

Fine lazy. We know how not to. But they don't tell you how to do it!
Both were born in a warm nest and think they now have a monopoly on wisdom.

Prefer a younger person with a broader vision and less conceit!

Jaap and Jan Cees are children of their upbringing and stand completely still in time. Are VVD members in heart and soul, purely for their own interest and profit.
Purely on the money and no empathy with people who have it less!

People watch out, you are being used!!

Kees, if we don't trust these gentlemen, we'll just have to wait for the green mafia of culture decay. Doesn't seem like a good alternative to me!

However, the story of the presidency is at odds with the current course of the VVD:

VVD turns out to be against democracy and freedom referenda (9 out of 10 climate scientists do not support the climate model), abuse of corona (track and trace), green earnings model without added value (burning labour) and giving away the currency operation of the Dutch guilder by VVD economist Zalm is destroying our future.

Kees and Jaap are very experienced and not afraid. A top duo with the right people around them. And yes, they are not saints either so will make mistakes; who is not I say.

You don't hear LTO now, after all very clever "who needs to be shaved, must sit still".
“Fortunately” LTO has hired a very expensive and exclusive agency Maes & Lunau to guide the selection. They are armed to their teeth and watch out eh; at the expense of members!!
Take a look: www.maeslunau.com.

I trust that Maes & Luna will cleverly send all those calling farmers “into the forest” and then a neatly fitting LTO sheep will be appointed chairman and everything will go well LTO so Slow Ten Onder

Well, Peer, you're right. Go see you.

What strikes me is in the last Nieuwe Oogst - LTO's body magazine - Mr. Veerman comes forward emphatically

What should I think of that??
