Wheat price not so high in 2 years

5 October 2020 - Redactie Boerenbusiness - 3 comments

Last week, the European wheat price tried its best to hit the psychological ceiling of €200 per tonne. That didn't work, but it did yield the highest price in more than 2 years. Can the stock market maintain this level?

If you include the inflation of the past decades, it is quite clear who pays for the "prosperity" here.

Wheat prices should not touch the 200 euro limit, but the 400 euro limit.
And then here's a story about "a very high price level".

I agree, it is all too easy to talk about a high price. This while nines can be grown cost-effectively without subsidy. maybe denounce this a little more often before you talk about a high price

ola, 1985 it was 10 fr for wheat in Belgium, ie 250 euros.
this is 35 years ago.
I know that the cost price and the returns have risen sharply. remember 2007-08: we went nr 275 euros
remember 2011: we went nr 275 euros

within 1-3 years we will go - easily - to the 300+
it can also be 400+: your bread and a beer will probably also cost 5 euros.

inflation...
good luck everyone
