The sales times of the potatoes on the futures market for the upcoming 2021 harvest have again been chosen completely arbitrarily. Game leader Jesse Torringa was allowed this time the DCA Potato Bingo turn.
DCA Group, the parent company of Boerenbusiness, introduced Potato Bingo more than 10 years ago. The bingo game selects completely random sales moments, from which an average sales price for the chips potatoes is calculated.
When spinning the bingo balls, a harvest year is divided into 9 portions of 6 weeks each. For each period, 1 ball is drawn via the bingo game. This number is equivalent to one trading day. The average bingo price is determined via the closing quotations on the futures market on those trading days.
