The sales times of the potatoes on the futures market for the coming harvest 2022 have again been chosen completely arbitrarily. Game leader Aniek Remijn, farmer's daughter and junior employee in our team, was allowed this time the DCA Potato Bingo turn.
DCA Group, the parent company of Boerenbusiness, introduced Potato Bingo more than ten years ago. Using a handle in the ball pit, completely random sales moments are selected, from which an average sales price for the chips potatoes is calculated. When picking up the balls, a harvest year is divided into 9 portions of 6 weeks each. 1 ball is drawn for each period. This number is equivalent to one trading day. The average bingo price is determined via the closing quotations on the futures market on those trading days.
This week it became clear that the DCA Potato Bingo for the 2021 harvest year has achieved a sales result that is well above the average. Selling potatoes completely randomly scored (once again) higher than other sales methods. The contrast with other prices is great.
