Carbon Credits are a hot item internationally, but the Netherlands still lacks large-scale projects where carbon sequestration on grassland results in additional financial returns. Dutch Carbon Credits is therefore starting a number of pilot projects in which the internationally renowned measurement method VCS Verra is used.
Dairy farmers who want to get a greater financial return from permanent grassland can apply for these projects. Erikjan van Huet Lindeman, director Erikjan, explains why carbon credits are also interesting for Dutch farmers and what the importance of good measurement is.
