European politics in turmoil over Ukrainian grain

17 April 2023 - Redactie Boerenbusiness - 5 comments

Poland and Hungary have put the grain market on edge in recent days. The import of relatively cheap grain from Ukraine puts prices under pressure for their own farmers and the governments of these countries are not letting that go their way. Poland and Hungary are therefore diametrically opposed to Brussels.

Those countries dare to stand up for their own farmers and inhabitants. The Netherlands is either too cowardly or too good and hands over everything to Europe. It also happens in other countries, such as with the credit crisis, but here they are more Catholic than the pope.

they just give those countries a little more support, for example 2 billion and then everything is Easter and free again

Poland and Hungary are right , we have to support them . Have we already forgotten that a high grain price also pushes the other crops to a higher price .
