The sales times of the potatoes on the futures market for the upcoming 2023 harvest have again been chosen completely at random. Bingomeister Jesse Torringa has determined the random sale days for this season the DCA Potato Bingo.
DCA Group, the parent company of Boerenbusiness, introduced Potato Bingo more than ten years ago. Completely random sales moments are selected via a handle in the ball pit, from which an average sales price for the chips potatoes is calculated. When the balls are taken, a harvest year is divided into nine portions of six weeks each. One ball is drawn for each period. This number equals one trading day. The average bingo price is determined via the closing quotations on the futures market on those trading days.
That was announced earlier this month the DCA Potato Bingo for the 2022 harvest year has again achieved an excellent result. The average sales price is only 30 cents below the result of the 2018 harvest year.
