The Lower and Upper Houses have approved the outline of Minister Wiersma's manure plan. The resulting obligations will hurt farmers. If she wants to, the minister can significantly alleviate that pain with all kinds of technical adjustments, without undermining the goal, says Agractie director Erik Luiten. Agractie wants to keep fighting for that and not think along with the politically desired in advance. Agractie also does not want farmers to continue to pay for the costs of residual shrinkage.
