The sales moments of the potatoes on the futures market for the upcoming harvest 2025 have been chosen completely randomly again. In the seventeenth Potato Bingo, game leader Chantal de Winter takes you through the drawn sales days for the new season.
Selling potatoes completely at random using a bingo ball pit has once again become a trend for the 2024 harvest year. sensational result achieved with an average sales price of €30,43 per 100 kilos, the highest level ever.
This is how Potato Bingo works
In Potato Bingo, random sales moments are chosen by chance by drawing balls. The harvest year is divided into nine blocks of six weeks each. The drawn ball represents the trading day of that block. Fictionally, the potatoes are sold on that day. The closing quotes on the futures market determine the average bingo price on those trading days.
Previous editions have shown that Potato Bingo usually produces a more positive result than sales on contract or via a pool.
