Demand for Dutch onions from abroad is good, but that has been the case for some time. The fact that the market is really taking off this week is more driven by growers. The onions that were briefly stored in potato storage are gone, and onions from emergency storage have also been largely cleared out. Buyers are scrambling to pry the onions from actual storage.
