Much has already been said and written about onion exports. But as is often the case in the onion sector, things are not going as many expected. More onions are being shipped in the first weeks of January than some sorters anticipated, and their inventory needs to be replenished. However, it's mainly the top segment of large onions that is experiencing the most activity, says Jurphaas Lugtenburg, market specialist at DCA Market Intelligence.
