Will April be a record-dry month?

20 April 2026 - Redactie Boerenbusiness

April is usually the driest month of the year, with an average of 30 to 45 millimeters of precipitation. We don't seem likely to even reach that this year. The spring drought has therefore set in, according to Robert de Vries. Boerenbusiness-The weatherman looks at the weather forecast for the rest of the month and is already cautiously looking ahead to May. Will this be a record-dry month, and how much longer will the drought last?
